Mosaic Butterfly Pillow
So, here is one of my most recent favorite creations...the mosaic butterfly pillow. I love Anthropologie Stores and there was a patched butterfly pillow I saw in a catalog (pictured below) and I thought it was so pretty. However, it's pricetag was $88. So, I started looking around through my scraps and found some floral prints that would work for my own pillow. I went with more green and their's was more yellow. Mine is also a little smaller because i just used an old insert from a pillow that wasn't being used. (I love that it cost me nothing to make this, which does not always happen!)
The funny part about this is that all I had to go by was this picture in the catalog (the one on the right side of the page), and I just cut as I went along without drawing out a pattern first. I get in a hurry sometimes when I get excited about making something (plus there is not that much time during my daughter's nap), and I just begin to cut material as if I were drawing with my scissors. I know it sounds a little unorthodox. But I was pretty pleased with the turn out.
Here's the original pillow from www.Anthropologie.com.
