DIY Moccasins

When we visit my parents there are usually things my mom has gone through that she is getting rid of or has set aside to see if I want it. One thing I found was a off white suede jacket. I immediately thought I would have a go at making the girls some moccasins. I have always wanted to buy them a pair of Freshly Picked moccasins or a similar brand...but it has just never been in our budget. So, I decided to just try these. I saw a pair online that I thought were cute. I studied the pictures for quite a bit (since I didn't have a pattern) and then used "my pattern" as one of their shoes to at least give me an idea of the size they needed to be. It took a bit of tweaking. I cut out 3 pairs of shoes and there was only a little bit of fabric left (but not quite enough for 4 pairs) so I cut out a little purse/pouch while I was at their house. When I got home I did the sewing. Surprisingly they worked out pretty good! I would have loved to have had some thicker leather, but hey...this was free! They all fit! Ruby's was the only pair that ended up being a little smaller than I would like. Especially since she will grow out of them the fastest because her foot keeps changing.
All in all, these were fun to make!
