I don't do a ton of projects that I can wear, but when I do I get pretty excited. I had pinned this cute Ace & Jig dress a while back (see here too). Then I found this linen checkered skirt at the thrift store. I actually liked it just the way it was but it did not fit right. It was sewn with a zipper on the side and it would have been a little more complicated than I would have wanted for an alteration. So, I decided to recreate the dress I liked with this fabric.
I'm happy with how it turned out. And it's quite versatile...as it is still a bit chilly here in Missouri, I can wear it with a sweater and boots. And when it gets warmer it will be great all on it's own with sandals.
(don't mind my serious face. most of the time i tend to take awkward photos and the more serious ones just turn out better.)
At some point maybe I will own an Ace & Jig dress, but this fit the bill.
