WHEN EVERYTHING STOPS

Sometimes my life feels like I may never catch up. Everyday has it's work load, but when someone is sick those things get pushed off for a few days and then there is more catch up to do. This week Sophie was sick for days...like 6 days. That's quite a long time in our house. I could feel that the others were beginning to feel neglected or bored at different times because she was quite needy.

One afternoon Sterling asked if she could just sit next to me on the bed, and she dozed off. I couldn't help but take some pictures. Naps are pretty rare for her...unless she is just really tired. And when your almost 9 year old wants to lay beside you and ends up falling asleep, you take it. I often tell her how I remember when she was just a little baby, and how I wish she would never grow up (jokingly)...and she then says something like "Mommy...I want to grow up and experience things."

This past week I felt like everything stopped and we just laid around (even though no one else was sick at that point), doing little bits of school work here and there but it wasn't much. This is one thing that I'm still growing in...balance.
