DIY MACRAME PLANT HANGINGS

Since the summer I have had a list of "things to make" that I just couldn't squeeze in the time for during homeschool this past year. Now that our schedule is a little more freed up I have been working on a few projects. This one was some macrame flower hangings. I have had this saved on Pinterest for a while now and finally finished two!

I bought the macrame cord from the nearest Micheal's craft store.

This was the beginning phase of one of them.

These flower hangings used the basic macrame knots (flat and spiral knot). If you haven't tried macrame you can find some pretty simple tutorials on Youtube. Just search for macrame and tons pop up.

When I was a teenager my mom had an old macrame book from the 70's that she had kept with instructions so that's how I learned. While doing this project I showed Elle and Sterling. They both caught on, but because Elle is a bit younger so she lost interest a little quicker. Sterling decided to make a necklace to see if she could do it.

And voila!

She's pretty proud when she makes stuff all on her own. And I'm pretty proud of her too.

Next I want to make one or two baby ones in bright pink or some other neon color for the girls room.
