REPURPOSED KIDS SKIRT

So, I finally got around to sharing this repurposed skirt I made for Ruby out of an old shirt of mine. I made it a few weeks ago. This skirt was the inspiration. I had seen this lovely little yellow skirt a while back, and remembered I had this old linen shirt I didn't wear any more that could possibly work as a similar style skirt for Ruby. The shirt was a short sleeve button up that had a drawn string waist (I forgot to take a before photo). On Saturday's I like to try and do one or two things on my "to do list", and this was one of them.

I'm pretty happy with it. Especially for the fact that it was free and only took a little bit of an afternoon to make. I'm all about reusing things that we already have but don't use anymore. Or going to a thrift store to find something similar that I am looking for and make it work. There have been so many times that we were really tight on money being married (or even as I was growing up), so I think that is one of the reasons I'm naturally thinking of ways to make things on a budget. Also, my mom was the same way. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Ruby seemed pretty happy with it too.

And she was too cute that I couldn't just pick one photo. I had to keep almost all of them!
